Nahiarte is a creation space where we train artists with mental or intellectual disabilities, to promote their inclusion in the world of work in creative jobs.
We offer a personal and professional development program in an artistic environment that encourages participation and social interaction, highlighting the productive capabilities of each member and visualizing their worth.
People with disabilities can be trained through art and promoted to creative jobs if they wish.
Ana Urgoiti Guisasola and Cristina Bacete Díaz firmly believe that people with disabilities can be trained through art and promoted to creative jobs if they wish.
For this reason, following in the footsteps of centers such as the “Creative Growth Art Center” in Oakland and the “Schlumpers” in Hamburg, they created Nahiarte in 2013, betting on art as a path of expression and social inclusion.
GOALS
Create professional opportunities for people with mental or intellectual disabilities in the field of arts, creation and creative industries.
Advance social inclusion through the publication and exhibition of their artistic creations.
Breaking invisible barriers with society, allowing for direct dialogue with the public.
